ok honestly i did not have high hopes for this because most books in this genre disappoint me with all the unhealthy relationship dynamics, miscommunication and emotional immaturity, but this was so much better than i had expected!!! there were still plenty of misunderstandings, but the couple put in a lot of effort to communicate honestly and empathetically with each other. i know, low bar, but given the state of rom-com fiction these days… i’ve learnt to keep my expectations low.
i know many people will be put off by the boss-subordinate relationship at first glance (i get it, i was sceptical too) but somehow the author managed to pull it off without it being predatory and creepy. if i had to pick one thing i didn’t like, it would be the instant attraction, but other than that i think this was a really solid read.
edit to …

edit to mention: lincoln has ADHD but he also feels very autistic-coded to me, and specifically the kind of autistic that i am. i’ve literally never related to a character this hard.
